Waiting on my Bella's...not very patiently I might add....

I finally did it. I broke down and bought contraband stamps and I am sitting on my thumbs while I wait for them to arrive. I couldn't stand it any longer....I had to have a Bella....well several if we are being honest. I LOVE THE BELLAS as do many other stampers out there. Haven't seen the Bella's? Oh, look at what you're missing http://www.stampingbella.com . I can promise you, you too will have to have the Bella's. I also promise to have something so happy stamped on my website as soon as I get them. I don't think pacing at the mailbox or the front door at this point, is making them come any sooner.

Unfortunately, this month I have to make three sympathy cards. I am hopefully that my run of threes is finished and there won't be anymore sad news coming to this house for awhile. I had been wanting to test out some more color challenges from Splitcoast Stampers (see the link on the left), so I used them as the basis for these two cards. It can really be a challenge especially if you are jumping completely out of your comfort zone like I did with this card. I would not classify myself as earthy or near earthy or earth like. I am from earth, but that's about as close as I am going to get, so I really struggled with this card. I am happy with the results however.

This is the other one I created. I love the Au Chocolate paper in the SU Spring Mini. I punched just a little piece for under my clear button and then sponged on the saffron to make it match. I really like how it turned out.

I hope you will enjoy these. If you do, please feel free to leave a comment. Even if you don't you can still leave a comment. Is anybody out there? (Loud echo.....) If you want specifics on which stamps, paper etc. I used, you can check out my splitcoast gallery.

It is so my lucky day....Stan the UPS Man just arrived with some FREE stamps. Wooppeeee!!! This is one happy stamper. I can't wait. It's the Office Accoutrement set I have had my eye on. Man do I love FREE stamps. Hopefully I can runaway to the Bunker sometime tomorrow for some shtampin' fun. Cheerio!

Finally Time to Stamp

I have finally had a few minutes between antibiotic refills and doctor's visits to stamp. I think we have been sick more this year than we have in the last five years combined. I am really looking forward to spring. It was a beautiful day yesterday and pretty nice today except for the wind....but the weekend looks divine! Yippee!

Unfortunately, one of the cards I had to make, was a sympathy card. I have a really hard time making sympathy cards. I think it's because somewhere in my mind, people don't age....they just stay the same as when I last saw them....so for that reason....I find death to be a sharp smack in the face. I used Heartfelt Thanks on this card. I still love this set....it's so elegant. I emboseed the saying in white and Case'd the card format from Archiver's a couple of weekends ago. I really like the idea of a half card horizontally instead of vertically.

I have decided I must be in a bling mood because lately everything has had to be sparkly. I have a secret addiction to glitter and pearlex....it's really sad actually. But some of you probably have already figured that out by now. Which explains the next card. If I could have glittered it without too much obnoxion (I just made that up) I would have. But...alas....too much sparkle isn't always a good thing. I whipped out this little card think I was doing the color challenge on Splitcoast Stampers, however, this was last week's challenge. This is pretty much typical of my crazy life...I am a always at least a week behind. I will hopefully whip out the real color challenge sometime in the next week or so. This was really fun! I had to use some white ribbon even though it wasn't a color listed because I didn't have any other ribbon that would go. I haven't done any of these challenges until now....I can see that they would be addictive. The challenge colors were Elegant Eggplant, Cool Carribean and Certainly Celery. I embossed with versamark and heat and stick powder and then used pearlex to get the glistening effect. The flowers actually have holes punched in them so that the eggplant shows through. I had seen this awhile back on another swapp and I thought it was such a cool look, so it returned to me while making this card. I was really excited about how it turned out. And, yes, I am obsessed with the doodles. I just cut the alphabet last night and I think I'm in love. It is SOOOO cute! I can't wait to play! Happy Stamping!

Sometimes you just gotta doodle....

So I think I might be a little Doodle obsessed. I am also ipod obsessed at the moment, but that's another story altogether. How many of you can jog down memory land and remember the familiar crackling of your favorite cassette tape. You never knew whether or not you were on your last listen or not due to breakage. How many of you ripped out the scotch tape and spent the weekend in cassette tape repair mode? LOL! Now we have this amazing technology that is as thin as a credit card that you can carry 1000's of song on. That is just incredible to me. You can play it anywhere and you don't have to listen to commercials. Amazing! What would the pilgrims think? Crazy! Anyway, back to the doodles....I just love those doodles. I made this card as a thank you for my friend Liza....who most likely won't see this as she is not a stamper....can you believe it? Not a stamper....I didn't know there was such a thing anymore? HA! Anyway, I used the cuttlebug embossing folder for the background and the Doodle That set for the little flowers. I'm headed off to dream of something magical for dinner....Happy Stamping!

Ohhhh.....Chocolate.....

As if we could have imagined something better than chocolate and beer....well maybe not better....but definitely equal. Stampin' Up' has managed to deliver something just as yummy....chocolate DS paper. I haven't met a soul yet that didn't love it! and.....you can get it NOW! Woopee! Here's the card I made today with this delicious paper. I was going for the black and white look....only I used brown and vanilla. The colors are very vanilla and chocolate chip. The lollipop ribbon is courtesy of Texas Jody Lynn's ribbon share. Check out her website by clicking on the Confessions of a Ribbon Addict link on the left of my page. I hope you will enjoy my card! I am off to work on scrapbook pages for the twins albums, in hopes that they will leave home with some sort of documentation of their birth. This weekend has been much less relaxing than last. Sure wish I could head to the hills for another massage. Ah well....you can't be pampered every weekend! I hope you are having a happy weekend and are happily stamping and scrapbooking!
